Kimberly Mitchem-Rasmussen is the President and Founder of the Girls in Politics Initiative (“GIP”) and Girls in Business Initiative (“GIB.”) Kimberly provides strategic direction for both companies with an emphasis on program development and global growth. Kimberly brings 20 years of legal, business, political, non-profit and entrepreneurial experience to her position as President of GIP and GIB. Under her leadership both companies have expanded operations to host 160 classes annually in 58 cities in the United States and 18 cities abroad. GIP also hosts private classes for universities, colleges, county governments, city governments, foreign governments, public schools, private schools, civic organizations and social organizations.

Kimberly develops and leads political campaign trainings and advocacy trainings for political parties and civic organizations. She’s led candidate trainings for the U. S. State Department and sat as an expert contributor on panels hosted by the U.S. State Department for women parliamentarians, political candidates and activists visiting the United States. Immediately prior to founding GIP and GIB, Kimberly got her formal start in the political sector at The White House Project. In her position at TWHP she was responsible for corporate partnerships, development and campaign training for the southern United States. Kimberly has worked as a political consultant for the past eleven years specializing in campaign strategy and fundraising for congressional campaigns in the United States. Kimberly is a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA where she earned her BA and MBA.
